Lindsey and Lakin became friends more than 10 years ago, and they'd been dating a little more than two when Lakin popped the big question. This wasn't just your ordinary proposal, though - Lakin wrote and recorded her own song for her beloved.

"I was able to record a song I wrote for her, and I sent the song to her on Christmas along with the lyrics inscribed in paper," Lakin said. "I told her that I couldn't make it up to Washington for Christmas and that I had to stay in SoCal instead. Without her knowing (and with the great help of her family!) I flew up to Washington and timed my surprise so that as she listened to and read the song I wrote for her, I set myself up downstairs in her parents' home. Once she was finished with the song, she was instructed by my note to go downstairs by the Christmas tree where I was waiting, and I asked her to marry me."

Needless to say, Lindsey said "yes." The couple chose Salt Creek Beach for their wedding ceremony and reception because it was the perfect casual outdoor environment they were looking for.

"Lindsey saw the beach and knew right away it would be perfect," photographer Derek Chad said.

See all the lovely photos ahead!

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
