Growing up with a Latina mom is a bit like growing up on a roller coaster - the best damn roller coaster ever.

I never really appreciated it until I moved to New York City at 18 and realized that, even though I might've thought otherwise as she made me sit through Mass every Sunday or threatened to smack me with her shoe, my mom is actually my best friend. She raised me on her own and still managed to age like she's Jennifer Lopez (that alone deserves major props, am I right?), but no one gets me like she does - and I wouldn't trade that for anything.
