21 Reasons You Never Stop Rooting For Arya Stark

This season of Game of Thrones has teased out Arya's storyline to a frustrating degree - after sending her to Braavos to train with the Faceless Men, she puts in time with Jaqen H'ghar, gets sweet revenge on one of her enemies, gets blinded, then forgiven . . . and now, she has given it all up. We kind of knew it: a Girl was never just a Girl. Arya Stark is Arya Stark, dammit, and in a season full of Stark family reunions, it makes sense that the youngest Stark daughter would be compelled to reclaim her name and her sword and go home. It's been a long road for young Arya Stark since the series began, and everything she's been through is enough to scar a person for life - and yet Arya keeps on going, each day, even with a family taken away from her and a heart full of vengeance. The character is fierce, feminist, and funny and brought to life by the inimitable Maisie Williams, who's helped make Arya not just one of our favorite characters, but the one we root for the most. To celebrate Arya's return to herself, let's look back at her fierce evolution.
