President Obama Talking About Malia Graduating From High School Will Bring a Tear to Your Eye
It's an exciting time for the Obama family, and not just because Barack is getting ready to wind down the last few months of his presidency. Malia Obama is graduating from DC's private Sidwell Friends School on Friday, and her dad recently opened up about how he's dealing with the major milestone. While the first daughter has practically grown up in the public eye, a White House official has confirmed that the Obamas "are treating this as a private family moment." During an appearance on The Tonight Show on Thursday, Barack told to the host that he's already gotten a pair of sunglasses to hide his tears during the ceremony.
Over the past few months, the president has gotten very candid about the transition he will face when Malia heads to college in the Fall of 2017 after taking a gap year. "My daughter leaving me is just breaking my heart," he said during a speech at an Indiana high school last week. "If there are any parents here, I hope you can give me some pointers on how not to cry too much at the ceremony and embarrass her." Aww! If you think that is sweet, be sure to check out all of his best father-daughter moments over the years.
